Discussion

Lively conversation re: whether we should keep our Council name, change, or tweak it. Disability issues now entering realm of diversity in so many ways. Focus used to be on gender and race primarily with narrow interpretation of diversity. Interpretations of words, changes in terminology and preferred usage. Should “disability” be used or a work-around? Informal consensus to keep Council name as is.

Finale: Possibility of having to move Council meeting day or place—please stay flexible and communication will follow, if necessary. [Ed. note: Our meetings are now held on the second Tuesday of the month at 12:00 noon in the Regents’ Conference Room on the first floor of the Fleming Administration Building.]
